ABOUT

Born in Poland and raised in England, Paula Kurowska is a fine line and blackwork tattoo artist based in Brighton & Hove. She specialises in delicate, symbolic designs featuring winged animals like butterflies, moths, dragonflies and birds, as well as floral motifs and circular compositions. Her work combines refined linework, balanced compositions and intentional design to create tattoos that feel personal, timeless and meaningful.

Drawing on her background in Psychology (MSc), Paula approaches tattooing as more than an aesthetic practice. Many of her designs explore themes of transformation, identity, memory and growth, translating personal stories and emotions into visual form.

More than just a tattoo... it is a space for reflection, empowerment and self-expression.

TATTOOING AS A
HEALING PRACTICE

A bridge between the worlds of art and therapeutic exploration.

Each tattoo session is an opportunity to connect with your story, your body, and your healing journey. Whether you are marking a transition, honouring a memory, or reclaiming your skin, the aim is to make the experience feel intentional and affirming.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and a gentle understanding of how art can support healing. While I don't offer therapy in a clinical sense, I hold space for emotional processing, personal storytelling, and co-creating meaningful tattoo designs that feel deeply personal.

Clients are welcome to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. Every step of the process from consultation to design to inking - is collaborative, consent-based, centred around your comfort.

HOW I CREATE TATTOOS

FLASH DESIGNS

Pre-drawn designs, often featuring winged creatures, floral patterns, or circular motifs, ready to be tattooed or with minor adaptations.

The designs are non-repeatable, however, open to alterations. Every tattoo should be unique to the person that has chosen the design.

FREEHAND

A collaborative process where tattoos drawn directly on the skin during the session, ideal for flowing, bespoke compositions.

CUSTOM

Unique designs created in collaboration, usually before, though sometimes during the session, reflecting personal stories or symbolic themes.

Do you have a drawing that you have done yourself? A beautiful photograph that you have taken? Maybe an idea, but you can't quite make a picture out of it?

Make sure to include it as a reference when booking in to create a new design just for you!
